About Us

Gaining Momentum

Many of you have visited The Old Nick Williams Co. Farm & Distillery over the last few years and have had the opportunity to taste our spirits.  With the passing of NC Senate Bill 290, as of September 1, 2019, NC Distilleries are now allowed to operate a bar inside their establishments.  We are now pleased to offer our guests hand crafted cocktails, wine and beer.  Bring your friends and family and hang out out at the distillery, have some drinks, and enjoy the scenery on the farm.

We spent weeks trying to come up with the perfect name for our new bar.  Our history is so important to us that we wanted to continue with the theme into the bar.  When prohibition began in 1919, the revenuers came to the Old Nick Williams Distillery and busted all of the barrels filled with whiskey.  28,000 gallons of liquor were dumped and destroyed, ending the business.  The Busted Barrel seemed to be a good fit.  The original business ended with busted barrels .  Fast forward over 100 years later, we are in a new era of the distilling industry and new laws have been passed, this time allowing the industry to move forward and flourish.

Thank you to all of our customers for your continued support and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for The Busted Barrel!
